I have developed a number of websites for small businesses and organisations. I also maintained a number of web sites including www.nifra.org.uk, which is updated regularly and has over 100 pages. See Web Design Section.

I have developed a Race Management Program to help race organisers manage entries and results. This involved using Microsoft Access and Visual Basic. The program has been used with success in a number of races including a British Championship Mountain Race.

I am involved in setting up their computer network and maintaining their computer system. I also developed their website www.youthlink.org.uk and gave tuition in how to update it.

Achievements:
  • I was a member of the Northern Ireland Junior World Mountain Running team in 1999 (Malaysia), 2000 (Germany) & 2001 (Italy). I have also taken part in various home internationals at U18 & U20 and senior level.
  • Climbed the 4000m Mt Kinabablu the highest peak in South East Asia.
  • Completed the Elite class of the Mourne Mountain Marathon - a two-day navigational event in which competitors complete in pairs and must carry all their own equipment.
  • I was a member of the Methodist College 1st XI hockey squad.
  • I was captain of my school cross-country team.
Skills & Interests:
  • Experienced in developing relational databases using Microsoft Access.
  • Set up computer networks at home and in a small office.
  • Extensive experienced in designing, maintaining and developing web sites.
  • Experience with using Dreamweaver and Photoshop.
  • Extensive experience in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of a number of programming languages including Java and Visual Basic.
  • Desktop publishing skills illustrated in my editorship of my church newsletter and the Northern Ireland Fell Runners Association newsletter.
  • I serve on the committee of the Northern Ireland Fell Runners Association
  • I enjoy running and regularly compete in fell, cross country & road races.
  • I am a member of a local running club and QUB Harriers running club.
  • I enjoy reading especially biographies and adventure travel books. I also like to keep up to date with IT issues by reading computing magazines and websites.
